The Friends of The John Frost School are parents, teachers and friends who help with fundraising as part of the school community. The PTFA is a registered charity and part of the PTA UK network.
Over the years we have purchased many items and the group has organised the school prom annually since 2005. We have contributed towards school trips to reduce the cost for parents. We have provided digital equipment, team kits for PE, books for many subjects including English, Business Studies, Science and Geography, and supported Drama, Music and Art.
In order to carry on supporting the school the PTFA would welcome new members. Please contact us if you feel you can help.
At the end of March we held our annual Easter quiz with Friends of the School, school staff and senior leaders governors, parents, and the wider community. We also took part in bag packing at the local Asda and between the two events raised a fantastic £500 for the school in March. The money is spent on books and equipment, and any department can bid for money through the year. Last term we donated over £1,000 to the school for sports kit, books and digital technology for use across the school.
For the Grease concert we sold hotdogs and popcorn, and sponsored raffle and rotary tickets, to support the show. Last term we also supported the Christmas concert and Remembrance day poppy art work and bought books and workbooks for students. We worked with the school to sponsor bricks in the new buildings and will be selling bricks annually so that parents and students old and new can have an engraved brick in the outdoor stage area.
Thank you to everyone who bought refreshments or a raffle ticket this year. This fundraising has meant that we have once again been able to help buy essential equipment, books and kit. We also support Welsh Bacc by attending events and helping out with funding.
Friends of The John Frost School are a registered charity and every penny raised is spent on children in the school. We arrange the Year 11 prom every year and #TJFSProm 2018 was a great success.
The PTFA usually meet on the second Thursday of the month in term time, at the school 6pm until 7:30pm. Dates for the 18/19 academic year are as follows:

The PTFA work closely with the school through the staff representative, Mr Gregory. Any requests are then discussed with the senior leadership team of the school.
