The Friends of The John Frost School are parents, teachers and friends who help with fundraising as part of the school community. The PTFA is a registered charity and part of the PTA UK network.
Over the years we have purchased many items and the group has organised the school prom annually since 2005. We have contributed towards school trips to reduce the cost for parents. We have provided equipment for the technology department and team kits for PE, books for English and Science, dictionaries for Geography, theatre make up and masks for Drama, music sheets for Music and materials for Art. We are also supporting the Welsh Bacc work this year.
In order to carry on supporting the school the PTFA would welcome new members. Please contact us if you feel you can help.
On St David’s Day March 2017, the Friends of the John Frost School held our first Quiz Night. It was a fantastic evening with Welsh themed questions, prizes, entertainment and food. Parents, teachers, colleagues from the local primary school, family and friends took part in a great night as part of the school community.
Friends of The John Frost School are a registered charity and every penny raised is spent on children in the school: this term we have sponsored a Welsh Bacc event and purchased revision books for Science. We are currently working on the plans for the end of year prom. Our next fundraising idea is the sale of engraved bricks. Add your message on a brick which will be displayed in the Reception area in the new building and help to fund activities in the school. Be quick, as there is already a waiting list!
Watch this space as Friends of The John Frost School grows from strength to strength as part of the all-important school community.
The PTFA usually meet on the second Thursday of the month in term time, at the school 6.30pm until 8pm. Dates for the 16/17 academic year are as follows:
9th Feb 2017
9th Mar 2017
6th April 2017
11th May 2017
8th June 2017
23rd June 2017 – Year 11 Prom.
The PTFA work closely with the school through the staff representative, Mr Perkins. Any requests are then discussed with the senior leadership team of the school.
In order to carry on supporting the school, the PTFA would really welcome new members. Whether you can come to meetings or help at our events or with fundraising, contact us on email or our social media if you can help.
We are also registered with Easy Fundraising so you can support us without spending any money, find out more here.
