About Year 12

Brief overview of Year 12

Performance at Key stage 5 often determines the route that a young person will take into higher education, employment or other training. During this Key Stage we continue to offer extensive support in the form of mentoring and guidance from our pastoral team, our subject experts and also from external advisors.

All students will be required to study the Welsh Bacc and a minimum of two other subjects of their choosing. These subjects can be in the form of A levels or BTECs.

Brief overview of how and when progress is measured

Progress is monitored throughout the academic year and there will be regular reports to parents keeping them informed of how their child is progressing.

Attendance

All Year 12 students are expected to attend school a minimum of 96% of the time. The school Attendance Officer must be contacted whenever a student is absent from school on 01633 654100 or by emailing edwardsl349@hwbcymru.net. Maintaining 96% attendance is essential if a student is to realise their potential academically.
