On Wednesday 16th November 2016, 28 students from The John Frost School performed in the Last Nights of the Schools’ Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The Schools’ Proms are organised by Music for Youth and the concerts involve extremely talented young people from across the UK. Our students were singing in a massed choir, organised by Gwent and Caerphilly Music Services. They performed a piece written by Dr Daniel Bickerton (Cardiff University) for the occasion called “Connect”. They also performed Land of Hope and Glory by Elgar and a new commission written for the Schools’ Proms this year. The students were an absolute credit to the school throughout the day. Their performance was excellent and the Music and Performing Arts Department are extremely proud of what they have achieved. Hopefully the experience will be one that the students will remember for many years to come.
