About Year 7
Year 7 is the start of an exciting journey for students. This is a new chapter in their lives which will allow them to develop their skills, explore new opportunities and gain a variety of experiences. This is an important year for students as it forms the foundation for their time at The John Frost School. Students are encouraged to follow the motto, Carpe-Diem and ‘seize the day’ by taking part in all the opportunities given to them, whether this is in the classroom or through the wider curriculum on offer.
Your child’s academic progress is important to us at The John Frost School. Students are expected to display an excellent approach to learning in lessons in order to strive to reach their potential, including completing work outside of the classroom. Students are well supported through this academic journey through regular tracking and reviewing. At the end of each term, students progress will be measured through subject monitoring allowing for academic review meetings to take place.
Attendance
All Year 7 students are expected to attend school a minimum of 95% of the time. At the end of each Half Term, every student in Year 7 will receive a Student Attendance Statement detailing their individual attendance percentage. The school Attendance Officer must be contacted whenever a student is absent from school on 01633 654111. Maintaining 95% attendance is essential if a student is to realise their potential academically. For more information on School Attendance, please follow this link.
Home School Contact
It is essential that all parents ensure that the school has accurate home and emergency contact details for their child. For all queries regarding a Year 7 pupil, please contact Mrs Rees on 01633 654100.
