We are very proud of our reputation for excellent uniform and all students should wear full uniform at all times. The uniform is available from Beam Sports and Schoolwear in Cambrian Road, Newport.
Students in Years 7 to 11 must wear:
- A purple school blazer with school logo
- A grey V-neck pullover with purple stripe (optional)
- A white collared shirt/blouse
- A school tie worn appropriately
- Mid-grey trousers (no skinny fit, pinstripes, flares, denim or leisurewear). No other colour, including black, is acceptable
- Plain mid-grey pleated skirt, which must be a reasonable length
- Grey socks or black or grey opaque tights
- Black shoes only – no training shoes, sensible style for all-day comfort and safety
- Coats should be appropriate for school. No hoodies
- Jewellery (other than one pair of ear-studs) is not allowed for health and safety reasons – this includes facial piercings
- Plain black hijab in autumn/spring term; plain white hijab in summer term
- Mid-grey tailored shorts of an appropriate length, near or below the knee (optional summer uniform). No other colour, including black, is acceptable
Physical Education Kit
Compulsory
- All students must have a short or long-sleeved purple PE top, badged with The John Frost logo
- Sports socks
Required - one item only. Students must have one of the items below, which must be black with a purple strip
- Tracksuit bottoms
- Leggings
- PE shorts
- PE skort
Optional
- ¼ zip top with long sleeves
- Rugby jersey
- Black sports hijab
Students in Year 12 and Year 13 must wear:
- A black school blazer
- A white, collared shirt/blouse
- A sixth form school tie with logo
- Black trousers (no pinstripes, flares denim or leisurewear)
- Grey/black pleated plaid school skirt of a length avoiding extremes
- Plain black hijab in autumn/spring term; plain white hijab in summer term
Further information:
- Students not meeting the school rules on uniform will undertake their studies in isolation whilst parents are contacted, or until the issue is resolved.
- Extreme haircuts are not allowed, which includes brightly dyed hair. The Headteacher has the final say on this matter.
- Make-up can be worn; however, it needs to be natural and suitable for a professional workplace. No false eyelashes, lipstick or excessive make-up is permitted.
- The following safety regulations must be observed. One pair of flat stud earnings only. Other facial or body piercings are not acceptable. No other jewellery should be worn.
- Nail varnish can be worn; however, it must be a discreet colour. Nails must be short, safe length so as not to cause injury to self or others. NO acrylic nails or brightly coloured nail varnish.
- Students must have a school bag that is large enough to carry schoolbooks and work materials. They should not be a fashion accessory and should be plain and fit for purpose.
- Students are allowed to wear an appropriate hat determined by the weather conditions. Hats must not be worn indoors. Beanies/woollen hats are not permitted.
- Students may require either football or rugby boots for PE lessons.
- Hoodies are not permitted
In any matter of dispute, the decision of the Headteacher will be final.
