Safeguarding

Keeping all students safe is extremely important at The John Frost School.

All staff and governors recognise the responsibility they have to ensure the safeguarding policy and procedures are followed. All children have a right to be protected from all forms of abuse and discrimination and to be treated equally regardless of age, gender, race, culture, religious belief, language, disability or sexual identity.

Safeguarding legislation and government guidelines state that schools should take action to:

  • protect children from abuse
  • prevent impairment of children’s health or development
  • enable all children and young people to have the best outcome
  • ensure that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care

Safeguarding includes child protection, health care plans, health and safety, site security, safety on school trips, anti-bullying work and more.

If you have any concerns regarding a child's wellbeing or in the event of a disclosure, contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

If a disclosure is made about the Headteacher contact the Chair of Governors. The full Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy can be found in the Policies' section of the website.

Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mrs M Poulton (Deputy Headteacher)
